Maryann Bell is a brand strategy consultant with 20+ years of experience building, repositioning, and architecting brands across life sciences, enterprise technology, ecommerce, and consumer categories.
She started her career as a graphic designer and spent the first half of it as a creative director — work that was fundamentally about translating strategy into expression. Over time she moved further upstream, into the positioning, architecture, and naming work that shapes what creative teams are asked to make. That fluency in both disciplines is what makes her unusual: she thinks strategically and evaluates creative from the inside.
She has led brand strategy engagements for eBay, Aramark Destinations, The Company Store, Citrix, Palo Alto Networks, and a range of emerging businesses — helping organizations find the positioning that's true, differentiated, and built to last.
When she's not deep in a brand engagement, she plays ice hockey, walks her dogs in the Oakland hills, and tends a garden that keeps getting more interesting.
